MATRIC is organized into two business areas aligned by their area of technical capabilities. Many research and development projects are carried out for government and corporate clients by the staff of these business units. Projects not qualifying for execution under MATRIC's non-profit organization can be performed under Mid-Atlantic Commercial Research (MCR), a for-profit subsidiary of MATRIC.
Advanced Systems Technologies - This business area is focused on developing software solutions for the most complex systems in the world. Critical competencies include data mining, data fusion, and critical control system software.
Chemical and Environmental Technologies - This business area has expertise in the assessment, development, and commercialization of new process technologies, environmental characterization and management techniques to reduce the environmental impact of fossil fuel production, and safety engineering services to reduce operating risks in a variety of industries.
In addition, a MATRIC subsidiary offers a full suite of engineering and project services. Mid-Atlantic Technical Engineering, LLC (MATE) is a full-service engineering firm that focuses on energy, natural gas, chemicals, facilities engineering, waste treatment, safety, and the environment.
