Mark Nunley, MS

Senior Process Engineer

Nunley joined MATRIC in 2007 and has managed commercialization efforts from conceptualization to piloting through plant startups including basic and detailed engineering design. He has particular expertise in process troubleshooting and improvements, techno-economic evaluations, and process simulation.

Ronald S. Eisinger, Ph.D.

Senior Chemical Engineer

Dr. Ron Eisinger has more than 35 years of experience in industrial R&D. His main areas of expertise include process modeling, olefin polymerization and oligomerization processes, separation processes (especially gas-solids), and fluidization.


Michael B. Boyd, MS

Mr. Boyd joined MATRIC in 2009 and serves as MATRIC’s HSES Leader, providing leadership for safety and security efforts including compliance, training, audits and reporting.


Madan Bhasin, Ph.D.

Chief Scientific Advisor

Bhasin joined MATRIC in 2009 as Chief Scientific Advisor and is responsible for planning and guidance of research projects and international business development. He also serves as a resource and mentor for both senior and junior staff at MATRIC.

Bhasin has over 45 years of experience in the chemical industry, primarily with Union Carbide and Dow Chemical.


Donald L. Bunning, M.S., P.E.

Senior Chemical Engineer

Don Bunning has extensive experience in process development, new catalyst development, demonstration of new technologies in pilot units, commercialization, on-site startup support, and licensing of the technologies.

His more than 35 years of experience in the chemical industry includes R&D and management positions in Union Carbide and Dow Chemical.


Nye A. Clinton, Ph.D.

Senior Research Scientist

Dr. Clinton joined MATRIC in December, 2004 and has worked on major projects helping customers develop proprietary and innovative chemical processes. He has broad experience in the development and commercialization of chemical process technologies.

Previously, he joined Union Carbide at Tarrytown, N.Y., where he rose to the level of Associate Director of R&D.


Louis A. Kapicak, Ph.D.

Senior Research Scientist

Dr. Lou Kapicak leads MATRIC’s bio-based fuels initiatives, serves as a mentor to senior and junior staff, and manages multiple development projects. He has more than 30 years of research and R&D management experience. His project areas have included ruminant nutrition, microbiology, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, syngas chemistry, organic process chemistry and process development.


Charles G. Moyers, Ph.D., P.E.

Senior Chemical Engineer

Dr. Moyers is widely recognized as an expert in operations including solution and melt crystallization, drying, and liquid/solid separation. He is currently supporting several MATRIC projects involving solids processing, crystallization, and separations.

George Keller, MATRIC Chief Engineer

Chief Engineer

George Keller is a co-founder of MATRIC and also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. During a 36-year career in the Research and Development Department of Union Carbide Corporation, he rose to the highest position on the technical ladder.

Director of Advanced Software Technologies

Mark Dehlin is located in MATRIC’s Morgantown, W.Va. office, where he leads a group of talented software-developers involved in cutting edge research, including real-time GIS applications, artificial intelligence and training simulations.
